Karen has been teaching at CU Boulder since 2022 and brings real-world experience to the classroom: as a communication and engagement consultant, Karen partners with clients across sectors, developing strategic communication plans, customized engagement programs and comprehensive training and education sessions that empower organizations to purposefully recruit top-notch volunteer talent and cultivate vibrant, mission-driven teams. Her tailored experiences promote effective communication and increased participation for associations, nonprofits, corporations, alumni, and community organizations, educational institutions, executive boards, and foundations. Karen holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado Boulder and is certified in volunteer administration (CVA). She is thrilled to be challenging students to develop their public speaking abilities – a necessary skillset for success in everyday life, academics, and workplace careers.
