Joanna Mendy is a first-year MS student in the Internet Rules Lab, advised by Casey Fiesler. Prior to starting the master's program, Joanna completed her BA in Political Science and Sociology, with a minor in Leadership Studies at CU Boulder in 2022. Her research interests include fandom and parasocial relationships, identity building in online spaces, and technology policy and ethics. In her free time, Joanna loves reading, roller skating, going to concerts and making playlists for all the new music she finds.
