Master's Student
Journalism

Originally from Mason, Texas where she grew up on a cattle ranch, Maddy Heath earned degrees in Journalism, Spanish, and Leadership Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder in 2023. Maddy has always had a passion for writing and public speaking which led her to journalism, where she enjoys telling the stories that go untold. These passions and goals came to life throughout her undergraduate career, specifically in her senior capstone project that focused on the story of Proposition 114, the reintroduction of gray wolves to Colorado through the lens of wolves themselves and indigenous groups.  In addition to her studies, Maddy works as a Journey Leader Mentor (student orientation leader and event planner) for the New Student and Family Programs Office at CU Boulder.

Maddy is now pursuing a master’s degree in journalism, with a focus in broadcast to eventually become a news anchor. Outside of her education, she enjoys traveling to Spanish speaking countries, most recently Ecuador, writing poetry, cuddling her cat Peaches, and baking.
