Lore
Master's Student
Media Studies

Taylor "Lore" Whittemore is a current graduate student in the Media and Public Engagement program at the University of Colorado Boulder. She is passionate about how the stories we tell and connect with personally impact us, and her research considers intersection between media canon formation, transmedia franchise evolution and development, fandom culture, and identity representation in the ever-changing 21st century media landscape.

She came to the MAPE program after graduating summa cum laude from the University of Southern California with her Bachelor of Arts in Cinema and Media Studies and a minor in Screenwriting and gaining professional experience in both the entertainment industry and marketing; Lore intends to explore these skill sets through her graduate thesis project, which seeks to explore meaning-making practices through popular culture.

When she's not writing, reading, or researching, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé and their dog, Willow. Lore intends to continue onto a PhD program in her pursuit of professional research and teaching opportunities—and inevitably, she will get excited about many television shows along the way.
