4 CU athletes have competed in the Summer Olympics while still eligible to compete as collegians: Ted Woods(A&S’60) in 1960 as a sprinter, Jenny Barringer Simpson (Econ, PolSci’09) in 2008 in steeplechase and seniorsEmma Coburn and Shalaya Kipp in 2012 in the steeplechase. 6 is the number of national titles won by Northwestern University lacrosse teams with CU head coach Ann Elliott as a player or assistant coach. 8 is the number of CU athletic programs that received perfect Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores for the 2010-11 school year: men’s basketball, women’s soccer, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s skiing and women’s tennis.
