The national law firm Arnstein & Lehr LLP welcomed Joseph L. Hoolihan (PolSci) to its Chicago office as an associate in the litigation practice group. Before joining the firm, Joseph was a judicial extern with the Honorable Marvin Aspen of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He also worked as a clerk at a Chicago law firm and served as a member of Northwestern’s Bartlit Center Trial Team.

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offered Chelsea Raubenheimer (Span) a grant to travel to Brazil for an English teaching assistantship. Fulbright grants are selected on the basis of academic and professional achievement, as well as demonstrated leadership potential. Chelsea is one of more than 1,900 U.S. citizens who will travel abroad through the Fulbright U.S. student program during the 2015- 16 academic year.

Zach Siegel (PolSci; Law’15) joined the real estate department in the Denver law firm Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck and will work on large-scale, mixed-use development projects. He has experience in negotiations and drafting contracts, which includes navigating city government contracts, concessions agreements and a variety of leasing requirements.

Coloradan associate editor Christie Sounart (Jour) married Levi Henry (Math) last October in Littleton, Colo. The couple celebrated with a trip to Hawaii. They live in Denver.

Actress Caroline Barry (Thtr) was the star of 10 Days in a Madhouse, a 2015 biopic about 19th-century journalist Nellie Bly, who feigned mental illness to report on the happenings within a women’s insane asylum. At CU Caroline participated in the Colorado Shakespeare Festival Touring Show and performed for thousands of children and teenagers statewide. After shows she held workshops that taught the audiences about the complexities of bullying and how to deal with it in their own lives. Caroline says being selfless and helping others is the secret to happiness.

Ball Corp.’s Jamie Arnold (MEngrMgmt) was honored in March at the Women in Manufacturing Science, Technology, Engineering and Production Awards in Washington, D.C. The STEP Awards honor women who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in their careers and represent all levels of the manufacturing industry.

In February Andrew Riley (Mgmt) closed a 40,000-square-foot deal for Kite Pharmaceutical. He is a broker at the real estate group CBRE in Beverly Hills. He bases his practice on cultivating long-term relationships with clients and local owners.

Professional golfer Emily Talley (Comm) played on the LPGA’s Symetra Tour this year. She and her boyfriend, CU skier Andreas Hoye (Acct, Fin’14), planned to move to Norway during the offseason.

With his CU entrepreneurial training and experience with the Deming Center Venture Fund, a capital investment account operated by CU-Boulder graduate students, Matt Reisman (MBA, MEnvSt) launched Rachio, a Denver-based startup firm focused on water conservation through smart irrigation systems. Matt lives in Superior, Colo.

Alexa Campos (Psych’12) was promoted to assistant manager of the sales and marketing firm Active Synergy in Aurora, Colo., where she oversees a team of more than 15 people. Alexa has been with the company since June 2012.

As executive director and founder of the Mountain Flower Dairy, an urban goat dairy, in Boulder, Taber Ward(Law’12) oversees the organization’s daily operations, employee supervision, herd health, education programs and more. Mountain Flower aims to generate awareness of sustainable agriculture among Boulder citizens.

Rachel Dubrovin (Jour’12) and Morgan Aguilar (Jour’13) both work for KLEW News, the CBS affiliate in Lewiston, Idaho. Rachel is the Palouse bureau reporter and Morgan produces all three KLEW newscasts and anchors the 11 p.m. newscast.

Jordan Darrington (Fin’12) and Emily Lindquist Darrington (Engl’12) moved to New Jersey last year. On July 15, they welcomed future Buff Jackson Lee Darrington into their family. The healthy baby boy was 9 pounds, 2 ounces, and 21 inches long. Jordan works for OppenheimerFunds as an equity and fixed income trading assistant in the company’s New York City office. Emily writes that she is blessed to be able to stay home with Jackson.

In 2013 700 young professionals applied for the fellowship program “Challenge Detroit.” Anna Balzer (EnvSt’12) was one of 30 selected. The yearlong fellowship is designed to attract and retain top, young talent to the city of Detroit. Through the program, its initiators hope to educate and form the city’s leaders of tomorrow.

In January the band released its first full-length album, “Let Me Shine.”

PM Environmental welcomed Challenge Detroit fellow Anna Balzer (EnvSt’12) to its team as a research consultant for the national due diligence group. Challenge Detroit is an urban revitalization project that brings innovative leaders to the city to live, work, play and be leaders in the community. In addition to working at PM, Anna will work with nonprofit organizations throughout the year to help with multimodal transportation, homelessness and community development.

On June 22, 2013, Katie Sandven (Econ’12) and Zachary Bren were married in Denver. Katie works as a pension specialist at Nationwide Financial. The couple lives in Columbus, Ohio, with their son.

Entrepreneur and CEO Cory Finney (Fin’12) started the company SnowGate, an outdoor locker system designed to prevent equipment theft. He lives in Boulder.

Jazz musician and CU-Boulder educator Jon Kohne (MMus’12) opened Old Town Music Studio in Longmont, Colo. Jon offers private and group lessons to people of all ages and levels, specializing in piano, guitar, music composition and music theory.
