- Psychology Practicum Trainee

Caitlyn is a fourth-year doctoral student in the Clinical Health Psychology PhD program at the University of Colorado Denver. Prior to joining the CAPS team, Caitlyn provided psychotherapy and assessment services to students and community members at the CU Denver Psychology Clinic and at a Denver-based private practice.
Caitlyn utilizes a holistic and integrative approach to therapy that is person-centered and strengths-based. She strives to foster a collaborative, warm and affirmative space for students. She often draws from acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based therapies and existential perspectives to help students meet their goals, explore their sense of self and cultivate well-being. Caitlyn aims to always meet students where they are at, and tailor her approaches based on the unique identities, values, goals and strengths of the individual.
Beyond clinical practice, Caitlyn conducts research exploring the connections between nature and well-being. She is interested in community-based participatory research methods and examining issues related to equitable access to green spaces.
