Vandna is an Associate Research Professor in the School of Education at the University of Colorado. Her community based, and participatory research focuses on the impact of social policies on children's access to services and on the health and well-being of children and families in historically marginalized communities.  Many of her projects focus on understanding service disparities and the barriers to provision of appropriate services for First Nations children in Canada.  She has helped to design, implement, and disseminate research conducted in partnership with a broad range of child welfare, health, education, social service, and child/youth advocacy organizations.

Vandna’s work is driven by her commitment to research that actively advances social justice and to democratizing research.  She shares her love of and experience with community based and participatory research with CU graduate students through the Community Based Research Fellowship program.
