The members of Team Railtech capstone group are building a linear accelerator with an accompanying power supply, control system, and Matlab user interface. This system will accelerate the metallic object by applying current from the capacitor bank to the rails. By utilizing our strengths, the project will focus on the safe and controlled acceleration in addition to a complex system for monitoring and data collection. With a Matlab user interface we will bring together sensor readings, launch statistics, and allow for full control of the system without exposure to high voltages or currents.
