At the request of the Center for Environmental Technology, our team designed and produced a person-portable soil moisture mapping system. Due to regulation and other concerns, aerial systems with similar use are sometimes impractical. Unlike previous unmanned systems, our design achieves smaller spatial resolution, higher sensing accuracy, and real-time mapping. The device is the first of its kind, low-cost, lightweight, and easy to use.
