Anybody who has put together a printed circuit board knows that placing chips on PCBs is always a challenge. In order to be done correctly, it requires that the user practices many times beforehand and even then, the process can still be inconsistent. Our product eases this process. With the help of computer-aided software, the user can have the utmost confidence that the chip will be placed correctly in terms of location and orientation. The operator uses the Semiautomatic P&P machine to pick up a leadless Integrated Circuit, and locates a distinct feature on the IC. The machine aids the user in accurately locating the parts to a pad on a printed circuit board, with the capability of accurately rotating said IC to align with the pads on the PCB. The P&P then lightly presses the chip into the solder paste in preparation for soldering. Our design is especially suited for surface mount technology based PCBs, and has the ability of placing ICs on boards that have already been populated with electrical components.
