I started advising at CU Boulder in Fall 2013 with the launch of the new Computer Science BA in the College of Arts and Sciences. I’m very excited to continue working with Computer Science students pursuing the BA though the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences! My academic background includes graduate and post-doctoral research (I have a Ph.D. in Biology), teaching at the Community College of Aurora, and serving as a full-time faculty member at a small college where I also did lots of advising.

I have a strong and long-standing commitment to student success in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) disciplines. Advising in Computer Science is another way I can help students make sound academic choices and prepare for exciting and rewarding futures. I am also very interested in promoting diversity in STEM fields – which means laying a path to success for women and other under-represented groups in these areas. I’m always happy to talk about these exciting opportunities!

I am also a dedicated ally to all students who identify as First-Generation and students with visible or invisible disabilities. You can always feel safe discussing these with me in an advising appointment.

My husband and I moved to Denver in January 2011 but we are still learning about and experiencing this wonderful area. I love to hear about beautiful/cool/funky places to visit, so feel free to share. We have two cats, Tom Pickett & Gold Nugget who keep us busy and entertained.
