What is a motto or quote that you hold dear and why?

Over a decade ago, my undergrad philosophy professor told our class, "The mark of a well-trained mind is the ability to make distinctions." This resonates with me because I value the ability to navigate complexity with discernment rather than oversimplifying or misinterpreting small details. I believe critical thinking and the ability to engage with nuance, rather than retreating into easy explanations, are incredibly important in creating a society that values truth and progress.

What do you most like to do to unwind?

I like to do yin yoga and extended stretching, wear comfy clothes, and recline.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

I was in a National American Miss pageant once as a kid. I didn't win anything.

Which TV show do you never miss?

I rarely watch new TV shows, but I can quote more from The Office and Spongebob Squarepants (seasons 1-3) than anyone else I know.

What was the first concert you attended?

I attended a Nick Lachey (Jessica Simpson-era) concert as a pre-teen. I can remember a total of one (1) of his songs
