The inaugural Women Forward in Technology Scholarship awards feature a strong showing from the University of Colorado Boulder, with CU Engineering women earning 7 of the 16 scholarship slots.
The program, created by a group of startup businesses, aims to grow the number of women in STEM fields. The call for applications drew more than 200 entries.

Each honoree will receive $3,000 in scholarship funds.The program was open to both undergraduate and graduate students. Applicants were required to submit an essay, letter of recommendation, and their transcripts.
The startup businesses behind the scholarship are the Foundry Group, Techstars, Cooley, Yesware, Help Scout, Cloudability, Kulesa Faul, FullContact, Anchor Point Fund and Distil Networks.
