On behalf of our ProReady team, welcome back to campus for the spring 2022 semester!

There are so many ways to engage in ProReady activities in the spring and summer semesters. We encourage all students – from first-year to graduate school – to take advantage of these opportunities to prepare for career success! Here’s a quick download for the spring:

Career Services Support

Our Engineering Career Services (ECS) team is always available to support your ProReady goals. Use the ECS website to connect to valuable online resources, including:

  • Handshake (job/internship postings)
  • vMock (resume reviews)
  • InterviewStream (mock interviews)
  • Vault (labor market info)
  • Career planning guides and more

You can also meet with the ECS advising staff through virtual drop-ins, express and individual appointments, and a variety of workshops and career fair prep sessions. ECS is also partnering with the BOLD Center on a “Job Search Series” throughout the spring.

Job and Internship Recruiting

A recent study reported that having an internship on your resume is the biggest influencer when employers are choosing between top candidates. Our employer partners are eager to recruit CU Engineering talent this spring, so connect with them in the following ways:

Career & internship fairs

Both virtual and in-person opportunities available. Be sure to have a completed profile on Handshake, where you can find thousands of posted positions and register for career fairs, company info sessions and fair-prep workshops.

  • Computing & Software: Feb. 8
  • Aerospace & Defense: Feb. 9
  • STEM Industry (all engineering majors): Feb. 10
  • Civil, Environmental, & Architectural Engineering: Feb. 23
  • Graduate School Fair: March 9
  • Chemical & Biological Engineering (hybrid): March 29

Weekly employer tabling

Employer partners will be in the Engineering Center lobby every Monday from 1-4 p.m. to network with students, promote job/internship opportunities, and offer career guidance. Check Handshake for the schedule, or just swing by every Monday!

Education Abroad

While some programs remain impacted by COVID-19, most are accepting applications for summer/fall 2022, including a May 2022 global intensive Complex Leadership Challenges in Rwanda and Uganda.

Undergraduate Research

A variety of undergraduate research opportunities are coming up! First, attend the “Pathways to Research” panel on Jan. 26 and learn from faculty and post-docs on their research career paths.  

Applications for undergraduate research programs include:

All students in good academic standing will receive an email with CU SPUR and DLA application instructions. Register for a SPUR/DLA application prep session on March 3 to improve the quality of your application materials.
