Richard Noble

Rich Noble joined the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department in 1981. Noble is co-director of the NSF Industry/University Cooperative Research Center for Membrane Applied Science and Technology. His research focuses on ionic liquids for gas separations, zeolite membranes and liquid crystals. He is named on more than 80 U.S. patents and has published more than 300 articles in refereed publications. Noble has been recognized numerous times for research and teaching, including recently with the Dean’s Performance Award for Research and the Institution of Chemical Engineers’ Innovator of the Year award. Noble earned his PhD from UC Davis.
