Sarah DolanSarah Dolan, a landscape architecture major and art history minor from New Jersey, was inspired to come to ENVD for its interdisciplinary curriculum.

Sarah DolanThank you for making ENVD what it is

Tell us about your involvement and/or student leadership roles in and/or outside of ENVD.
I have been a member of the Extreme Measures a Cappella group since my freshman year serving as president for three semesters and music director for one. Additionally, I have worked as a TA in ENVD for the past two semesters, which has been so much fun for me and super rewarding.

What inspired you to come to ENVD when choosing your school?
I came to ENVD for the interdisciplinary curriculum. As a high school senior, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in some kind of design and ENVD gave me the ability to explore multiple options.

What is one of the greatest experiences or lessons from your time at CU Boulder that you'll carry with you into the next chapter of your life?
One of the biggest things I've learned throughout my time in ENVD is how to overcome self-doubt. Lack of confidence in my own abilities made my first few years in ENVD especially difficult but over time I have learned to trust myself and produce work that I am proud of.

Describe one of your favorite memories.
I always loved pin-up days in 134. Though super stressful, it was so fun to walk around and see what other people had designed and talk with friends about their projects. I've definitely missed pin-up days since everything moved online.

What are your plans beyond graduation?
I'm taking some time to figure out exactly what I want to do next- but my plan for now is to apply for jobs and landscape architecture firms and see what happens.
