Student viewing projects at December 2018 open house

Something exciting has been brewing at Environmental Design, and we are delighted to announce an evening of celebration, with three, back-to-back events on May 2, 2019.

Program Partners Appreciation Hour | 5 - 6 p.m.

Private Event
The evening will commence at 5 p.m., with a private appreciation hour for a select group of our special program partners and associated design professionals. At the end of the hour, the building will open up for the spring Open House, celebrating a semester of hard work and recognizing the accomplishments of our students, faculty and staff.

Open House | 6 - 7:30 p.m.

The open house, which will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m., is an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of our program. It is also an opportunity for Environmental Design students to engage with program partners, design professionals and alumni. Student projects from the spring semester will be showcased throughout the studios—in the basement and third floor. We are asking students to be stationed near their projects in the studios for the first 30 to 40 minutes of the open house so that guests may engage with them and learn more about projects on exhibit.

People’s Choice Award
Voting for the 2018-2019 Environmental Design People’s Choice Award will be in ENVD 134. Open house attendees will vote on their favorite projects from each year of study: freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors. Winners will be announced at the next event of the evening: the Student Social.

Initial submissions for the People’s Choice Award are due Friday, April 5. Submit a digital version of your project by following the link below. These submissions will be voted on by Environmental Design faculty and staff, and the top two finalists in each year of study will bring their projects to the Open House where students and guests will pick the winning project in each category.
