The best opportunity for me at CU has been living in the LLC “Por La Cultura”. It is a program for latinx identifying students and has really made me feel at home since I’ve been able to be around my culture and learn about other Latin cultures I hadn’t been exposed to before.
The BBC scholarship has helped me to make college education a reality. I am a first generation college student and come from a low income household. I always knew that higher education was the path I wanted to take, but I also knew that I would without a doubt have financial limitations. The BBC scholarship along with others helps not only me, but my family as well by removing the burden of college tuition and expanding my potential further than anything else could have.
After my undergraduate education I plan to join either the Peace Corps or Americorps, giving back has always been very important to me so I want to take some time to help those in need. After that, I plan to attend law school and hopefully end up working on the legal side of cultural restoration and preservation.
