Loren Jackson

Loren was born and raised in Orion, Illinois. She moved to Iowa City, Iowa to earn her A.S. from Kirkwood Community College. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.S. in Health Science with a minor in Human Relations. After completing her undergraduate degree, she worked in clinical pharmaceutical research at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics with a focus on pulmonary and neurology diseases. Loren went on to earn her M.A. in Higher Education Student Affairs from the University of Northern Iowa. She worked as an academic advisor for Business, STEM and IT students at Kirkwood Community College while helping first-generation, adult learners and ESL students navigate their major. She made the move to Boulder to support students in the Program in Exploratory Studies as a first-year academic advisor. Loren is excited for the opportunity to help students find themselves throughout their educational journey at CU and explore what is possible. In her free time, Loren loves to go camping, hike, boulder and cook new recipes.
