Our research focuses on the behavior of a diverse range of lightweight and slender structures, with an emphasis on mechanical stability and the geometrically-nonlinear regime. We are particularly interested in space deployable structures, novel composite materials, and mechanical metamaterials. By combining experiments, analysis and numerical simulations we aim to understand the mechanics of these structures, predict and model their behavior, and propose new designs and architectures.
