Bio: Mateus Braga is a Ph.D. student at the University of Colorado Boulder in the Department of Aerospace and Engineering Sciences working with Dr. Robyn Macdonald. His research focuses on direct numerical simulation (DNS) of boundary layer laminar-to-turbulent transition for application to hypersonic (re-entry) flows, as well as developing a non-equilibrium wall model for application to large eddy simulation (LES) of turbulent hypersonic flows. His Ph.D. research is supported by the Advanced Computational Center for Entry System Simulation funded by NASA. Mateus received his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manitoba in 2021. At the University of Manitoba, he worked on drone design optimization, automated CAD modelling, and was a member of the structure subsystem for the IRIS CubeSat project with the University of Manitoba Space Technology and Advanced Research Laboratory (STARLab).
