Mithi Mukherjee is the inaugural Faculty Fellow for international faculty at the Office of Faculty Affairs. She will host two gatherings each semester to help build stronger connections between international faculty members across campus and develop a welcoming environment for them at CU Boulder.  

Mithi is an Associate Professor of History teaching courses on the history of south Asia with a focus on modern India. Her research interests include colonialism and nationalism, law and empire, human rights, comparative constitutionalism and democracy, gender, poststructuralism, postcolonial theory, and subaltern histories. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 2001, her M.Phil and M.A. from Jawaharlal Nehru University, and her B.A. from Presidency College.
