Executive order regarding the Department of Education

The university is aware of the recent executive order to begin taking steps toward dismantling the Department of Education. It's important to remember that only Congress has the authority to close the Department of Education. Our campus is evaluating the potential impacts of this order, including access to federal loans and Pell Grants, in coordination with the CU system, other CU campuses and its partner higher education organizations. You are required to set a security passphrase in Buff Portal in order for the university to assist you with FERPA-sensitive inquiries over the phone or in person without a photo ID.
Parents:
Students' educational records are protected by FERPA once they start attending college. Without a FERPA Consent to Release, we are unable to talk with you about their financial aid.
