The CU Board of Regents at its April meeting approved a 4% compensation pool for CU Boulder employees to be implemented effective Jan. 1, 2025.

  • Faculty/University Staff: Similar to last year, the 4% compensation pool will be applied as a 4% increase for eligible university staff who are meeting or exceeding performance expectations (3 or higher on performance reviews) and as a 4% merit pool for faculty and research faculty.
  • Classified Staff: On July 1, a 3% across-the-board pay increase will be applied to classified staff. Eligible employees will be placed on the wage step for their pay grade that reflects their total years in a job series as of June 30, 2024, and will begin to earn the rate of pay for that step. For more information, please reference the Classified Staff Step Pay Information on the Human Resources website.
  • Grad Student Assistantships: Beginning at the start of the 2024-2025 academic year, there will be a 4% across-the-board increase to the standard campus rate for graduate student assistantships.

Ongoing compensation efforts

CU Boulder’s compensation strategy committee has been committed to creating a campus-wide compensation strategy plan and framework that is transparent, inclusive, and reflective of CU Boulder’s goal of remaining a competitive employer in the state and across higher education.

“This ongoing work is necessary to further transparency, pay equity across campus, and model best practices for faculty and staff. We are committed to addressing the needs of every  employee population and being strategic and communicative with our recommendations,” CU Boulder Chief People Officer Robyn Fergus said.
