Friday, July 5, 2024, will be a paid administrative leave day for the CU Boulder campus, aligning with Governor Polis’s decision to observe the day as an additional state holiday in conjunction with Independence Day on Thursday, July 4.

Due to the academic calendar, classes and finals will still be held on July 5 and should not be canceled by instructors. Libraries will remain open, and buildings hosting classes or finals will remain accessible.

CU Boulder administrative offices will be closed on July 5, and most faculty and staff will be away from their work. Areas providing essential and critical services will remain open, and leaders of these units will determine appropriate staffing levels to ensure continued operations and service. Any staff, research faculty, or other faculty on 12-month appointments who are required to work this day should connect with their supervisors to identify alternative time off (by Dec. 31, 2024) based on the scheduling needs in their unit or department.

Please check with your supervisor if you have questions about your work schedule for this day.
