WHAT? Are you ready to be transported to the vibrant streets of Rome, the sun-drenched coasts of Sicily, and the bustling piazzas of Milan? This course takes you on a thrilling cinematic journey through the evolution of Italian culture from the mid-1940s to the present day. We delve into the revolutionary cinematic styles that have defined Italian filmmaking - from the gritty realism of Neorealism to the hilarious antics of'commedia all'italiana' (comedy Italian-style). Prepare also to be captivated by the powerful narratives that reflect the changing face of Italy, as we learn about Mafia, ethnic and sexual diversity. Course taught in English.
