Research Grants

• Graduate Student Research Grants
  Provides small grants for research at the master's or doctoral level. 
• CHA MFA Excellence in Research Micro Grants

Dissertation/MFA Completion Fellowships

• Arts and Humanities Dissertation Fellowships
  These fellowships provide full support for an academic year: tuition for up to 5 dissertation hours per semester, mandatory student fees, student health insurance, and a stipend equal to that of a 50% Graduate Part-Time Instructor. Applicants must be enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences and working on a dissertation in the arts or humanities. Deadline is January 21, 2024.
• CHA Graduate Fellowships
• Graduate School Dissertation Completion Fellowship
  Provides one academic semester of full support to aid in dissertation completion.
• MFA Completion Fellowship
  Provides financial support to assist in the process of completing their thesis or final project. 

Travel Grants

• Graduate & Professional Student Government Travel Grants
• Graduate School Student Travel Grants
  The Graduate School offers partial funding for CU Boulder graduate students traveling outside the state of Colorado to present their own research or work at a conference, meeting, or similar event. These travel grants provide up to $450 to students traveling within the Unites States, up to $600 to students traveling to Canada, or Mexico, and up to $700 to students traveling outside the Unites States, Canada, or Mexico. 
  • The application for travel occurring September 1 - December 31 will be open Aug. 16 12:01am - Aug. 18 11:59pm MST.
  • The application for travel occurring January 1 - April 30 will be open Dec. 12 12:01am - Dec. 15 11:59pm MST.
  • The application for travel occurring May 1 - August 31 will be open Apr. 11 12:01am - Apr. 14 11:59pm MST.
    • Applications are only open and available during the period listed. 
• Graduate Student Global Enrichment Fund
  Available to both in-bound and out-bound graduate students, whether degree-seeking at CU or abroad to support travel and relocation costs (up to $2,000) to foster global student research opportunities aligned with strategic institutions and/or CU research areas.

Other Awards & Grants

• Brenda M. Romero CU Dissertation Award in Music and/or Sound Studies and Social Justice
  This $1,000 award is open to students enrolled at CU Boulder, CU Denver, and the Anschutz Medical Campus. Eligible students may be from any discipline but they must be working on a dissertation whose topic is related to music (or sound studies) and social justice. 
• Brown/Ricketts/Udick Grant 
  Awards three $1,000 grants to graduate women attending the University of Colorado.
• Figueroa Family Fellowship
  This $1,500 scholarship is available to a student working in the sciences or engineering. The applicant should demonstrate a commitment to the achievement of a diverse student body.
• Graduate & Professional Student Government Student Group Grant
• John W. Marr Ecology Fund 
  Provides grants of $300 to $1,000 for Ph.D. and Master's degree students doing field research in plant ecology in the Rocky Mountains or the Arctic.
• The Center for African & African American Studies Graduate Student Summer Fellowships
  This $6,000 stipend is for University of Colorado Boulder graduate students conducting research and creative work in African studies, African American studies, and African diaspora studies who do not already receive university-sponsored or external funding (in any amount) during the summer months.

Emergency Funding

• Graduate Student Emergency Aid Fund
  Intended to help meet the financial needs of Boulder graduate students who encounter an emergency situation resulting in unforeseen expenses during their degree program.
