Multicultural Greek Council Recruitment and Intake

Multicultural Greek Council chapters host recruitment events each semester that allow potential new members to meet and get to know the organizations. These events usually occur during the first three weeks of the fall and spring semesters. Recruitment typically involves four to eight events depending on the organization. These events may address various topics like social, educational, professional development, academic and cultural workshops. No separate preparation is required to attend these events.

Students interested in joining a chapter will then follow the intake process. Intake can occur any time during the academic year and should take no longer than six weeks. If you’re interested in joining a Multicultural Greek Council organization, complete this interest form to get started.

What to expect

Each organization has their own requirements and membership dues. Do your research, attend recruitment events and ask questions to learn about the organization you’re interested in joining. Be sure to check with groups you’re interested in on scholarship opportunities or payment options as well.

Things to consider before applying

As you learn about the different chapters, we encourage students to think about the three S’s:

Save money: Understand that joining a fraternity or sorority is a financial commitment and you may need to account for costs during your membership.

Serve your community: Participate in community service and giving back—this is something that many organizations seek in potential new members.

Succeed in the classroom: Many organizations have academic standards they look for in potential new members and hold their current members accountable to.
