Thanks to the support of the F.I.R.S.T. (Faculty in Residence Summer Teaching) Program, this Augmester (August 1-18, 2016), GSLL will be hosting Professor Evgeny Dobrenko of the University of Sheffield. Prof. Dobrenko will teach a course “History of Russian Cinema”, cross-listed with film studies (M-F, 9-12). Prof. Dobrenko is one of the most famous world experts in Soviet culture and film. His numerous books and articles have revolutionized the scholarship on Socialist Realism and Stalinist society in general.
