Sprachbad –German immersion camp

Completely auf Deutsch is the 3-day German immersion camp Sprachbad which takes place at the YMCA in Estes Park, CO in early February of each year. The full-immersion German camp, supported by the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG), provides high school students from across Colorado with the opportunity to meet other German learners and speak the target language while doing fun activities such as dancing, hiking, producing short films, and creating art work. For the past four years, GSLL faculty and graduate students have been part of the organization and implementation of camp activities. This year, Nina Melovska and Benjamin Goytisolo-Hamann joined German language coordinator Dr. Berit Jany at Sprachbad in which they helped students build connections to the German language through games, music, and skits on this year’s theme of Märchen (fairy tales).
