Miguel Prieto (he/him/el) is originally from Mammoth Lakes, CA with roots in Michoacan,
Mexico. Miguel joins our TRiO Student Support Services team as one of our TRiO
Program Managers. Being a first-generation Hispanic college graduate and TRiO
alumnus, he understands the obstacles that students face on the daily and the support
they need to ensure they are successful along their academic journey.
Miguel has a passion to help guide and mentor students along their academic path. He
is a firm believer in the power of education and believes that everyone should have the
opportunity to further their education no matter their background. He is dedicated to the
students and will do all he can to support students achieve their goals.
Prieto completed his undergraduate degree in Sociology in 2018 and his graduate
degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Sports Management in 2021,
both from Kansas Wesleyan University. He has spent his career advocating for
underserved communities with roles in both K-12 and higher education.
Outside of work, Miguel loves to be in nature, playing soccer, hiking, running, or
snowboarding. He enjoys spending quality time with his fiancé and his family.
