Designed specifically for students with private health insurance coverage, the BuffCare Program helps cover out-of-pocket expenses for medical services provided on campus after your primary insurance has been billed. This includes services provided at Wardenburg Health Center and at Health and Wellness Services in the Village Center at Williams Village.

    Cost-effective

Coverage costs $225 per semester, and there is no limit for covered services.

    Convenient

BuffCare covers out-of-pocket expenses for on-campus care including co-pays, co-insurance and deductible costs.

    Simple

Students just need to bring their insurance card and student ID to check in for their appointments.

    Dates and costs of coverage

    How it works

    1. The student receives care through CU Boulder Medical Services
    2. Medical Services bills the student's primary insurance on file
    3. The BuffCare Program pays for the majority of the remaining out-of-pocket expenses based on the plan's covered services listed below

Please note: BuffCare is not an insurance product and can only be used for services provided at Wardenburg Health Center. BuffCare is only available to use after a student's primary insurance plan has been billed. If a student has a lapse in insurance coverage, BuffCare cannot be used.
