Advisor: Professor Lim • Jeanne Cho studies the women and gender history of post-colonial Korea. She is particularly interested in the cultural discourse surrounding housewives from the 1960s to the 1980s in South Korea during the period of rapid economic development. She is also interested in the global history of ideas, Third World feminism, and the women's movement in South Korea. She received her B.A. in History from Smith College in May 2021. Her undergraduate honors thesis examined the formation of the public memory of the Gwangju Uprising from 1980 to the present day. Prior to moving to Boulder, she called Chicago and Seoul her home.
