Advisor: Professor Ciarlo • Mathew is a Colorado native and graduated magna cum laude with majors in History and International Studies from the University of Denver. He is now an MA student studying modern German history. His academic interests include memory, nationalism, construction of national identity, and transnational discourse. He is fundamentally committed to studying the ties that link peoples, deemphasizing those constructed to tear us apart. Outside of academia, he enjoys film, reading fiction (whenever possible) and being a loyal son and brother.
