Inktober 2018

Inktober was started in 2009 by artist and illustrator Jake Parker. He wanted to “improve his inking skills and develop positive drawing habits.” So he began a project that involved making one ink drawing a day with a single worded and open ended prompt. Since then, inktober is kicked off with the publication of a list of prompts for every day of October. Artists of all skill levels and mediums take on those prompts in various creative ways. 2018 started off with “poisonous” as the first prompt. Instagram was immediately flooded with rendered ink drawings of plants, skulls, vials, and hundreds of other interpretations of the prompt. There is still time to jump on the inktober bandwagon. Its as easy as following the prompts as many or as few days as you like and posting those images to social media with the tag #Inktober2018. It is a challenge, but it unites artist of all backgrounds in a vibrant creative space. Go to www.inktober.com to learn more about how you can get involved with project!
