The Provost's Office for Academic Innovation's featured specialization for October is Melanie's 'Biology Everywhere' four-course Coursera specialization. Created for the general public and classroom teachers in mind, but relevant to students, staff, and faculty, the specialization provides learners with how biology appears in daily life, and how biological issues impact health, business, arts, environment, and other science fields.

Melanie speaks about her book 'Biology Everywhere: How the Science of Life Matters to Everyday Life' and the Coursera specialization in an episode of CU on Air. The innovative ways Melanie is bringing science and research to the public, in a way that is relevant to real life, captured the attention of President Kennedy's October 2020 newsletter. Melanie is featured in the newsletter giving evidence to 'The Numbers Speak Volumes: CU's Research is Benefiting the World'.

Congratulations Melanie, and we look forward to hearing more about your work in the ICS Fall 2020 newsletter.
