Research Overview

Rob Rupert works in the philosophy of mind and the philosophy of cognitive science, and in related areas of metaphysics, epistemology, and philosophy of science. His research focuses particularly on mental representation, mental content, concept acquisition, mental causation, cognitive architecture, situated and extended cognition, group cognition, natural laws, properties, and the cognitive processes involved in philosophical reasoning. He is a member of CU-Boulder's Committee for the History and Philosophy of Science. He has held visiting positions at the University of Edinburgh, the Australian National University, and Ruhr-Universität, Bochum, among other institutions.
