The guiding plan for this scholarship was to invite graduate students enrolled in history degree programs  to receive a distinctive form of encouragement and coaching in finalizing a dissertation prospectus. Patty worked with each person for at least three hours, extending to additional time when that was in order. As you well know, she read a draft of your prospectus closely, made comments, listened, recognized particular strengths, noted a few areas for improvement, proposed clarifications, explored potential audiences, and put the ABT (And/But/Therefore) and Dobzhansky Template to work.
