Taylor Michael Bailey is a doctoral candidate in the History, Anthropology, and Science, Technology, and Society (HASTS) Program at MIT studying environmental history and the history of science. His dissertation examines the history of federal and state wildlife restoration practices in the United States, from the beginnings of the conservation movement in the late nineteenth century to the passage of the (revised) Endangered Act in 1973. Taylor received his B.A. in Political Science from Otterbein University in 2015 and his M.A. in History from Portland State University in 2018. Upon completion of his Ph.D., he intends to pursue a public history career in the museum field.
