I am the Program Coordinator with the Applied History Initiative. I served for five years (2011-2016) in the U.S. Army as an intelligence analyst, reaching the rank of sergeant in 2013 while deployed to Afghanistan. After my discharge, I pursued my undergraduate degree in Political Science at the University of Colorado Boulder, where I had the privilege to meet Patty Limerick; first, in her role as Campus Partner for Academic Affairs with the Veteran and Military Affairs office, and then as a student in her course, The American West. During the Covid-19 lockdowns of 2020, Patty and I would chat on Zoom once a week and I have been deeply immersed in the world of Applied History ever since.

I am planning to attend graduate school in the Fall of 2025 to obtain a Masters in Public History. A chapter I wrote comparing the role of interpreters during the Indian Wars and the Global War on Terror is pending publication in a wider volume, Translating Past to Present
Interpreters in the American West and Beyond (University of Nebraska Press, October 2025). My research interests include the intersections of military and political history. When I am not acting as Patty Limerick's "handler," I enjoy taking my dog, Hatch, for walks. I have been involved in various anti-war veterans groups since 2020.
