The nation’s infrastructure challenges have been and will continue to be a concern for many years to come. That’s why the University of Colorado Boulder has partnered with Kiewit, one of the nation’s largest construction and engineering organizations, to launch the Kiewit Design-Build Program.

Techstars’ entrepreneurs and alumni who are admitted to the Leeds MBA program, may participate in independent study with the potential to earn up to 6 credit hours based on specific criteria developed by Leeds faculty and as permitted by the program.

The College of Engineering and Applied Science welcomes the newest member of its engineering entrepreneurship team, Entrepreneur-in-Residence Karen Crofton. Crofton provides leadership insights and mentoring in engineering capstone courses and advises engineering students through all phases of their entrepreneurial pursuits, from idea validation and prototyping to market readiness and attracting seed investment.

Diseases of the blood, like sickle cell disease, have traditionally taken at least a full day, tedious lab work and expensive equipment to diagnose, but researchers have developed a way to diagnose these conditions with greater precision in only one minute.

The innovative Center for Leadership pulls 22 leadership programs together on the CU Boulder campus and adds a new leadership research element run by Stefanie Johnson, associate professor of Organizational Leadership and Information Analytics in the Leeds School of Business.

Darwin Biosciences, CU Boulder spinoff and creator of the Sick Stick, have developed a rapid, portable, saliva-based COVID-19 test able to return results in 45 minutes. Such a test might eventually be deployable in community settings like schools and factories, and efforts are underway to conduct further validation tests and seek regulatory approval.

As COVID-19 has forced many businesses to rethink their models, alumni near and far are leaning into creativity and nostalgia to meet the moment while supporting their communities.
