Wind energy is recognized worldwide as cost-effective, environmentally friendly and is among the fastest-growing sources of electrical energy. In a webinar at noon on Thursday, Jan. 27, Professor Lucy Pao will provide an overview of wind energy systems, discuss some of the challenges in the design and operation of wind turbines, and highlight how the performance of these systems has been improved in recent years. She will also discuss some of the continuing challenges and future research that can further facilitate the growth of wind energy.
