Important: About Student Overloads

Per university policy, graduate students cannot work beyond 50% time (20 hours per week) in their combined on-campus work without permission from the Graduate School. The maximum number of hours students can work on campus is 25 hours (62.5% appointment). Petitions for beyond these hours will not be approved by the Graduate School. If receiving a GA or GRA position would make you exceed 50% time, you must inform Jewish Studies in your application of your intention to submit a "Petition for Over 50% Appointments for Graduate Students." Please note that you will need to submit this petition to the graduate school after you receive the position (not prior), and it must be reviewed and signed by your academic faculty advisor. Approval of your petition is not guaranteed.
