Boulder Summer Bucket List

Despite a few false starts, summer has officially arrived in Colorado—and we are definitely ready for it! Colorado is our playground, and Boulder is our backyard. We’ve put together an awesome Boulder Summer Bucket List to help you make the most of your summer in the Boulder/Denver area!

  1. Bands on the Bricks. Every Wednesday from now through August 7th, there will be live music at 6:00pm at the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder. With live music, food, and drink, it’s the perfect way to spend a Wednesday evening unwinding after work! Located a short hop from the CU Boulder campus, it is easy for employees to catch a show after work.
  2. Lost Gulch Overlook. If you’re looking for the best view in Boulder, you don’t have to go far. Follow Flagstaff Road roughly 4.3 miles up the mountain to arrive at Lost Gulch Overlook, and take it all in. (P.S. Can you spot CU Boulder campus from the top?)
  3. Colorado State Parks. With 42 state parks in Colorado, the possibility for adventure is limitless. Bonus: you can actually check out a Colorado State Park Pass through the CU Boulder and local libraries. Double bonus: the pass comes complete with a backpack filled with helpful resources to plan your trip, including a state parks guide and binoculars.
  4. Boulder Farmer’s Market. Now until November 23rd, you can get all your fresh, local, produce and goods at the Boulder Farmer’s Market. Head to 13th Street between Canyon and Arapaho every Saturday from 8am-2pm and stock up for the week!
  5. Rockies Games. There are very few things more quintessentially Colorado than catching a Rockies baseball game at Coors Field. CU Boulder employees can use their free EcoPass to take the bus or train right to Union Station, for a short walk to Coors Field!
  6. Colorado Shakespeare Festival. Located right on CU Boulder campus, the Colorado Shakespeare Festival hosts incredible performances of Shakespeare’s most famous works throughout the summer. Check out the performance schedule and get ready to be transported back in time at the enchanting Mary Rippon Outdoor Theatre. CU Boulder employees receive 25% off up to 4 tickets per performance with their employee ID card.
