Yaal Lester

Yaal received his Ph.D. in 2012 from Tel Aviv University where he studied environmental engineering with a focus on innovative oxidation systems and removal of emerging contaminants.  During his postdoc studies, Yaal worked on three projects from different environmental fields: i) photochemistry of dissolved organic matter (DOM) and the generation of photo-oxidants by DOM radiation with UV light, ii) characterization, treatment and reuse of wastewater from hydraulic fracturing of “unconventional” gas sources and, iii) removal of emerging contaminants and oxidation products from municipal wastewater using advanced oxidation/biofiltration (a pilot study) 2012-2014.
