“Talent is extremely important. It’s like a sports team, the team that has the best individual player will often win, but then there’s a multiplier from how those players work together and the strategy they employ.” Elon Musk

We are starting a new program at the University of Colorado -Boulder, called The Crnic Boulder branch. The Crnic Boulder branch needs a program manager. Similar to parenting or coaching, this job has many facets. The program manager will support the Crnic Boulder branch via communication, writing, and mayve even hands-on research if the need arises. The exact list of what this job entails may change as we all work together to define the future direction of the Crnic Boulder branch.

Unlike our older sibling, the Linda Crnic Institue at CU Anschutz, the Crnic Boulder Branch is in its infancy. But similar to the Linda Crnic institute our goal is to improve life for individuals with Trisomy 21. We envision forming a team of researchers that will decipher how the numerous co-morbidities seen in Trisomy 21 are related to each other. Our approach is based on the success of BioFrontiers and is therefore entirely collaborative and interdepartmental.

Trisomy 21 co-morbidities

The program manager job would be perfect for a senior post-doc (or a recently graduated Ph.D.) that enjoys working with graduate students. I would prefer this person have worked in one of the following areas: iPSCs/cell culture, mouse models, or data management. But other expertise would also be considered.  The hiring range is $65,000-$75,000 annually.

If you want to chat about this position or the goal of the Crnic Boulder branch, please email Mary.A.Allen@colorado.edu.
