Medtronic - Prospective Study of Pedicle Screw Placement Using the O-arm and Navigated Instrumentation

Spring 2012 - Spring 2013. While various studies have reported on the use of CT based and Isocentric 3-D fluoroscopy based navigation, there is a paucity of data on the O-arm and Stealth system using navigated instruments. Thus, the purpose of this grant proposal is to study the accuracy of pedicle screw placement using O-arm/StealthSystem as well as the time associated with its intraoperative use.  Given that the use of navigation is the standard of care at our institution, we will not compare the results of pedicle screw placement using O-arm/StealthSystem to a control group of patients that receive pedicle screw placement without navigation.
