Protein turnover within any cell is necessary to assure its proper function. I am interested in the differences between protein turnover rates of various muscle tissue types, as well as conditions that may affect these rates. Uncovering a mechanism of protein turnover in muscle tissue could provide possible therapeutic targets to treat various myopathies.
