In the past years my research has been primarily focused on the myosin structural determinants that guide myosin assembly into the sacomere, as well as on the pathological effects of β-myosin mutations causing cardiac and skeletal myopathies. I primarily use live-cell imaging to study the proper incorporation of WT and mutant fluorescent myosin molecules into the sarcomere, monitor their trafficking, and determine their turnover in cardiac cells. Moreover, I study the structure-function relationship of myosin in collaboration with Dr. Ivan Rayment  (University of Wisconsin)
